Many people who think of resistance, and especially those who are keenly familiar with the phrase, think of it almost as a dirty word. What is so brilliant about it is when you look resistance in the eye, recognize it and its trigger for what it is, and learn to release at that – THAT is where you find your true power. The obstacle for some is that they don’t know HOW to release the emotions that come up nor the trigger – so let’s just back up a second and start with learning to simply feel better. Feel GOOD.

In a time where the Disney movie “Frozen” is the most popular thing to hit mass media with young children and adults alike since sliced bread, there is an absolute and utter truth to the song “Let It Go” and just why it resonates SO strongly for people. They may not consciously recognize it, but in singing this, listening to this, repeating this phrase in their heads…it’s all changing their vibration to being more open to releasing the blockages within them. That’s WHY it feels so darn good to sing something like that at the top of your lungs! It is that raising of the vibration within you that literally allows for blockages to release and helps the energy flow more freely. You are no longer stuck in a lower frequency vibration. For that moment in time, you can feel that higher frequency vibration and that energy movement in your chest, your belly through your shoulders and into your neck and up into your head and you are literally creating something different for yourself – for your life! You are writing a whole new storyline simply by allowing yourself to FEEL GOOD!

That process of allowing yourself to feel good can be perceived as a bit selfish though. I get that. I’ve lived it. But what you have to remember is that it is impossible for you to adequately care for another if you don’t take care of yourself first. You can’t fill the water glasses around you from your empty pitcher.

Do the work. Get your halo dirty.

Sing. Sing LOUD! Dance carelessly. Eat something healthy for your body. Go for a walk. Sit outside. Take 5 minutes to sit in peace and quiet. Take time to write daily. Watch the sunrise. Watch the sunset. BREATHE.

Find something. Anything – anything that makes you feel good and healthy and strong for even a short moment – and do it daily.

Do the work. Get your halo dirty.
